All About pufferFish

Past. Present. Future.

Shangyi Zhu started piano playing at the age of 7, and disliked it until her teens when she discovered that music was more than just following a code of instructions. She enjoyed how music could be a mesmerizing world filled with emotions and creativity. pufferFish is the name that she uses for all game soundtrack compositions.

She has won third prize in the Steinway Piano Competition in the junior group, south China region in 2015. Shangyi later went to a US high school and studied under pianist Dr. Henry Kramer and Dr. Jiayan Sun. She participated in the Chopin International Piano Competition in Hartford 2019 and received honorable mention.

She wants to use her previous knowledge in music to story narrations in games, films and documentaries.
